Fed: Rocket propelled grenades hit Aust forces accommodation=2

The spokeswoman said the incident happened at 7.10am, Baghdad time.

The building is situated near the Australian embassy.

The spokeswoman said it was not certain if the Australian security attachment was the
target of the attack.

"Anti-Iraqi forces regularly attack Iraqi security and multinational forces with direct
fire," the spokeswoman said.

"One round struck the side of the building, the other round missed by about 50 metres," she said.

"No Australian soldiers were wounded in the attack."

"Iraq is a dangerous place and our security attachment protects Australian diplomats
and officials and we are continuing to monitor our force protection requirements to ensure
that we are able to protect Australian troops in the safest possible way," the spokeswoman
said.
